Nice material, but sizing is way off

Bought the pants to match my base layer top and I was disappointed because the sizing is not accurate. I’m a size 36 in pants and I ordered the XL because I don’t like them super tight…these were too tight and I could get them on. I donated them to my wife’s collection.
